Instead of re-releasing an old-school SEGA game in its classic form, as the company loves to do, SEGA is actually remaking something for a change. Jankenteam and Merge Games announced Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX, a built-from-the-ground-up revival of the 1986 classic. I played this game like crazy in the nineties as a child. The remake is headed to PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One sometime in early 2021.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX will feature a range of new modes and visuals. In addition, the game ships with a boss rush mode, more story elements, levels and even a classic visual mode.
If the trailer shows us anything, its that the game will be a direct remake of the original including level design, boss fights, enemies, platforms and more. However, you may have to wait sometime before you get your hands on it. Jankenteam and Merge Games only plans on releasing this remake in early 2021. You can wishlist it today on Steam.
