A release date for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, the upcoming action game from Xbox studio Ninja Theory, has potentially leaked. The news arrives ahead of the Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct showcase set to take place tomorrow, where the sequel will be shown off in greater detail along with new information. The good news is that fans won’t have to wait much longer as it’s seemingly only a few months away.
The leak originates from renowned leaker extas1s (reported by Exputer), who claims that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will release on Tuesday, 21 May 2024 exclusively for Xbox Series X/S and PC. Ninja Theory and Microsoft have yet to officially announce a release date for the anticipated game, though the leaker seems to have a pretty good reputation and track record, lending some credibility to the leak.

As it stands, May is a mostly deserted month for big game releases with the only notable launch in that window being Destiny 2: The Final Shape which comes out in early June, so it’s a rather uncompetitive and opportune time to release the game. That said, it’s possible that this year’s calendar of gaming releases will begin to fill up by the end of February as it’s rumoured that Nintendo will host a new Direct in the next few weeks. PlayStation remains silent about its 2024 lineup (other than a promotional video), though a State of Play could rectify that too.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 was given a rating of R 18+ in Australia back in December, suggesting that a release date was around the corner. If extas1s is correct, then Xbox will announce the May release date at the Developer Direct showcase tomorrow.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is currently in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC. It will also launch day one on Xbox Game Pass.
