Capcom is finally releasing several Resident Evil games on PS5 with physical versions. These include Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. All three games will be available in Europe starting this December, though it will release a month later in the US from January 2025.
PS5 owners in Europe will be able to pick up the physical versions of the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes as well as Resident Evil 7: Biohazard starting from 6 December 2024. Unfortunately, players in the US will have to wait until 10 January 2025 to get their hands on copies of the games. Furthermore, all three titles will have a price tag of $29,99, which is fair considering that they’re merely the PS5 upgraded versions of games that released years ago for PS4.
Resident Evil Village is already available as a physical copy to purchase on PS5 as well as the recent Resident Evil 4 remake. With the upcoming releases of the previous titles, PS5 owners will be able to enjoy most of the newer Resident Evil games in the series in their best possible form. If you prefer to have your games on hand as opposed to digitally, this is also excellent news for you.
In other news, the Resident Evil 2 remake is finally heading to Apple devices this December. Capcom already confirmed back in July this year that it was working on Resident Evil 9, which will be directed by Resident Evil 7 director Koshi Nakanishi.
There have also been multiple reports that Capcom is working on more remakes for the franchise, notably Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica. Fans of the franchise have a lot to look forward to over the next few years as Capcom will celebrate the series’ 30th anniversary in March 2026 – some speculate that this date could align with the release of a new game or a potential remake of the original PS1 classic, though we’ll have to see what happens.
