If you haven’t played Shadow of the Tomb Raider yet then there has never been a better time to do so. The latest patch 2.01 for the game has now enabled 4K 60FPS support on the PS5 meaning the experience now runs better than ever and looks fantastic all at the same time.
Keep in mind that Shadow of the Tomb Raider has not been enhanced for PS5. Instead, Square Enix has simply updated the backwards compatible version of the game to boost the experience while running it on PS5.
Up to now, users on the PS5 had to run the game in PS4 Pro mode. This forced them to choose between a 60FPS in 1080p or a 4K 30FPS render mode. Now, Shadow of the Tomb Raider still makes use of those two modes but when you play the game on PS5, you get 4K 60FPS instead of 4K 30FPS.
Keep in mind that Shadow of the Tomb Raider was a free PlayStation Plus game back in January this year so if you own that version of the base game, you can simply patch it to take advantage of the PS5 enhancements.
The PS5 is not the only hardware that has seen some love in recent days. Shadow of the Tomb Raider has also been updated for Xbox Series X/S too. So if you own the game on the platform then you can also enjoy 4K 60FPS gaming.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is also on sale on both Xbox and PlayStation. You can pick up the game at a hefty discount. Follow the links down below to check them out.
