Silent Hill 2 Remake Bloober Team Konami PS5 Exclusive

Silent Hill 2 Remake by Bloober Team in the Works as Timed PS5 Exclusive – Report

A remake of Silent Hill 2 is reportedly in the works by Bloober Team and will seemingly be a timed PS5 exclusive. The report comes from an industry insider named NateTheHate, who claims that Bloober Team is behind a remake of Silent Hill 2 with Konami. They also stated that multiple Silent Hill projects are currently in development.

The leak claims that the Silent Hill 2 remake currently in the works at Bloober Team will be a timed PlayStation console exclusive (though generally believed to be for PS5) and it will feature new endings and reworked puzzles. The sequel originally released for PS2 in 2001 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest horror games of all time.

Additionally, the leaker claims that multiple Silent Hill projects are currently in development. This was also mentioned by Dusk Golem, who just last week leaked four images for a new Silent Hill project (this might not be Bloober Team’s game after all). The other projects include a new mainline entry as well as side stories.

Last year, Konami signed a partnership with Bloober Team to work on one of its popular horror IPs. This is likely a new Silent Hill, as it fits with Bloober’s style and genre. The studio is also known for developing The Medium, Blair Witch and the Layers of Fear series.

As for what the other Silent Hill projects could be, last year Gematsu claimed that Kojima Productions were working on a Silent Hills revival. While this hasn’t been clarified yet, a strange comment made by filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro at last year’s Game Awards led some to believe that the film director and Hideo Kojima were back on the franchise in some form.

Silent Hill rumours are beginning to heat up lately and thanks to the recent images leak, it might be our best lead that something new is coming in Konami’s legendary psychological horror series. The last game to release in the franchise was 2012’s Silent Hill: Downpour. This doesn’t include P.T., which launched in 2014 as a playable teaser for the cancelled Silent Hills.
