Silent Hill 2 Remake – Digital Pre-Order Guide and Editions

Konami and developer Bloober Team recently revealed the release date for their upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake along with pre-order bonuses and the special editions you can pick up ahead of the game’s launch. Fans can get their hands on the remake of the beloved PS2 classic on 8 October 2024. Here’s a digital pre-order guide and a closer look at what comes in each edition including the standard and deluxe editions.

Konami officially announced the release date for the Silent Hill 2 remake at last night’s PlayStation State of Play event, confirming that it will be launching on 8 October for PS5 and PC via Steam. Fans can either wishlist or pre-order the game right now, which comes with a handful of goodies as incentives as well as a number of additional items if you go for the deluxe edition. Here’s what you can expect. Pricing has yet to be determined but we’ll update the article as soon as we know.

Standard Edition (Pre-Order)

If you pre-order the standard edition of the Silent Hill 2 remake, it comes with the following:

  • Mira the Dog Mask
  • Robbie the Rabbit Mask (Only on PlayStation 5)

Deluxe Edition

The deluxe edition for the Silent Hill 2 remake comes with all the above pre-order bonuses including:

  • Game
  • Digital Artbook
  • Digital Soundtrack
  • Pyramid Head Mask (Pizza Box)

Konami also debuted almost 15 minutes of new gameplay for the Silent Hill 2 remake at last night’s Silent Hill Transmission event along with interviews from Bloober Team on the creative process of sticking closely to the original while updating the important aspects like atmospherics, visuals, character models, voice acting and expanded storytelling elements.

In case you missed it, watch the last gameplay footage which was heavily focused on combat, pitting protagonist James Sunderland against some of the town’s most terrifying foes including Pyramid Head and the nurses. Elsewhere, Konami is also working on more Silent Hill projects including Silent Hill F, the next entry in the franchise, as well as Silent Hill: Townfall, a new title meant to start an anthology series.

Silent Hill 2 launches on 8 October 2024 for PS5 and PC.
