Silent Hill 2 Bloober Team Development Konami

Silent Hill 2 Remake News Possibly Coming Soon After Steam Page Update

It sounds like we might be getting news about the Silent Hill 2 remake soon after fans noticed that the game’s Steam page had recently been updated. The Steam listing for the game now includes 12 achievements (which could also translate to 12 trophies on PS5), suggesting that developer Bloober Team and Konami are getting ready to share news about the anticipated remake sooner rather than later.

Sadly, Silent Hill 2‘s Steam page update is all we have to go on for now. The page was frequently updated over the weekend but that’s about all the activity we can cover until Konami officially makes an announcement. As for where the remake can appear, fans speculate that a potential new stream is being planned for this month – exactly one year after the project was initially revealed. Alternatively, we could also potentially see it at The Game Awards in December too, which marks the final gaming-centric event of the year.

Bloober Team has been quiet about the Silent Hill 2 remake for a while. The company dropped tidbits of information in the past but nothing in the way of new trailers or marketing beyond what was initially shown in the reveal trailer. Bloober Team stated in the past that it’s feeling “high pressure” to deliver a faithful remake of the critically acclaimed original game from Team Silent, which is no easy accomplishment considering that Silent Hill 2 is often seen as one of the greatest horror games of all time.

Since the game missed its rumoured Tokyo Game Show appearance, the next best thing is to either look out for a dedicated stream (like a State of Play) or The Game Awards later this year, an awards-giving ceremony that also tends to include plenty of world premieres and reveals.

Silent Hill 2 is currently in development for PS5 and PC.
