Konami has announced a new Silent Hill Transmission event, two years after the first one aired which featured reveals for numerous new Silent Hill games including the Silent Hill 2 remake and Annapurna Interactive’s Silent Hill: Townfall. However, the next main entry in the series was also revealed as Silent Hill F, which will now be the focus of the next Transmission event airing this week.
Konami announced in a new post on Bluesky that the next Silent Hill Transmission event will take place this week on 13 March at 3pm PDT or 12am (midnight) SAST. Silent Hill F is being developed by NeoBards Entertainment, a support studio that assisted Capcom in the development of Resident Evil: ReVerse. The script for the game is being written by Ryukishi07, the author behind the acclaimed Higurashi and Umineko horror series.
According to early details, Silent Hill F will take place in 1960s Japan, meaning it will be the first game in the series to be set quite far in the past in a different country rather than present day America. How this ties into the foggy haunted town remains to be seen. However, with the talent involved, there’s certainly a degree of expectation for the game to be good.
Konami hasn’t revealed how long the new event will be, though it urges fans to “watch this space” for the streaming link as soon as it goes live. It’s also unclear if there will be more surprises in store for us. Konami recently renewed its partnership with Silent Hill 2 remake developer Bloober Team to work on another project, which fans believe could be another remake in the series. It might be a bit too early to unveil anything regarding that project, so hopefully we’ll also get a brief glimpse at Silent Hill: Townfall, even though it won’t be the focus of the stream.
