Skull and Bones Ubisoft Price Increase $70 Tag

Skull and Bones Team Share Update on Release Date and Gameplay

Skull and Bones has just suffered its sixth delay since its reveal back in 2018. Yesterday, Ubisoft announced that the upcoming open-world naval pirate game would not make its March release date as the company delayed it indefinitely. The news arrived alongside abysmal earning reports and more game cancellations at the company.

During the shocking Ubisoft news, the company didn’t share any update regarding Skull and Bones’ new release date. However, the development team behind the game has now shared information on the delay. The bad news – there’s no new release date. The good news – it is supposedly going to be announced “soon”.

In a post on Twitter, the Skull and Bones dev team stated that the extra time caused by the delay will now offer the team the opportunity to further polish and balance the game experience. The team discussed that the previous beta tests for Skull and Bones provided a lot of information on what to change and tweak and ahead of the game’s public release.

The team followed up by stating they have a lot to show fans in the coming months as well as new test phases for players to jump into. The more important news is that the team will showcase new Skull and Bones gameplay later today at 19:00 CAT / 5 pm UK time on Twitch.

The new gameplay will focus on the game’s lore as well as showcase some of the major changes the team has made over the past few months. They suspect fans will be “positively surprised by its evolution”.

Of course, the post does come with its own fair share of concerns. Fans are wondering why Skull and Bones has suffered six delays up to this point. In addition, one can’t help but wonder what state the game is currently in. We likely won’t get a new release date during today’s stream but if you want to check it out, make sure you join in on Twitch.

Skull and Bones is currently in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
