Skydance's Behemoth Release Date VR

Skydance’s Behemoth Launches With Technical Issues – PS VR2 Patch Out Now

Skydance’s Behemoth, the new monster-slaying VR game, launched yesterday with some dire technical issues. An important day one patch has already rolled out on PS VR2 to address these problems, though players hoping to hop into the game on Meta Quest will have to wait a week for the patch to arrive on their platform. Additionally, the game was also delayed in Japan for unknown reasons.

As reported by PlayStation Universe, a PR representative at Skydance Games informed the media outlet that it faced “a cascading hardware failure that delayed testing and certification of Skydance’s Behemoth across all platforms.” The team was still able to put together a day one patch for PS VR2 addressing a lot of these technical issues, though it seems Meta Quest players will have to wait a week before they can jump into the game without most of its current performance hiccups.

Twitter/X user Laser Cowboy pointed out Skydance Games’ statement on game being delayed indefinitely in Japan. Players in the country have had their pre-orders mysteriously refunded and the game was taken off the PlayStation Store completely in Japan. Skydance Games gave no official reason as to why it has been delayed in Japan.

Skydance’s Behemoth was originally given a release date of 14 November 2024 back in August, though it seems to have been delayed by a few weeks on PS VR2 and Meta Quest platforms. The synopsis for the game reads:

“Skydance’s Behemoth is an original story set in the Forsaken Lands, a fallen kingdom haunted by tragedy. Play as an outland warrior, Wren the Hunter (the player), and embark on a perilous quest to end the curse that plagues yourself and your village. Your only hope is to slay the unslayable, the monstrous Behemoths.”

Skydance’s Behemoth is now available on PS VR2, Meta Quest 2 and 3 and PC VR though we recommend waiting for that day one patch before playing.
