Online multiplayer modes for both PS4 and PS5 games will be accessible without a PlayStation Plus membership this weekend. All you’ll need is an internet connection and the game. Sony shared the news on Twitter announcing that the free PlayStation Plus multiplayer weekend will take place on 10 and 11 December.
This means that this Saturday and Sunday, anyone with a PS4 and PS5 can simply jump into online games without having to subscribe to the PlayStation Plus service. Usually, PlayStation Plus is a requirement for all online gaming. You can’t play any paid, premium games online without the service. Only certain free-to-play games are available without an active PlayStation Plus membership.

Of course, you’ll need to have a PlayStation Network account in order to sign into the PSN and play these games but you’ll have two days to enjoy online matches without paying for PS+.
Sony wasn’t exactly clear on the time at which the program goes live but I would bank on it kicking off at midnight on 10 December and running until midnight on 11 December. That is exactly 48 hours of free PlayStation Plus.
