While little is known about the PS5 VR headset and hardware at this point, Sony has revealed that the device has been built on the foundations of what made the previous generation so great.
The company teased fans with a few hardware details including a new VR controller that has been heavily inspired by the DualSense wireless controller. It has a large focus on ergonomics. Sony also says that it is just one example of the future-proof technology they are developing for the platform.
We’re taking what we’ve learned since launching PS VR on PS4 to develop a next-gen VR system that enhances everything from resolution and field of view to tracking and input. It will connect to PS5 with a single cord to simplify setup and improve ease-of-use, while enabling a high-fidelity visual experience.
Sony also says that developers have already begun working on titles to make use of the hardware. However, the PS5 VR headset won’t release this year.
