Sony Cancels PAX East 2020 Attendance Over Coronavirus

PAX East is a fairly large gaming expo that takes place in Boston every year. The expo plays host to a number of announcements and hands-on sessions for upcoming games. Sony has pulled out of the show in fear of the Coronavirus. According to the PlayStation Blog, Sony decided the health and safety of its global workforce was a concern.

PAX East 2020 will still go on for now as the expo has not hinted at a possible cancellation for the show. If it were to be cancelled, it would not be the first expo to suffer from it closing its doors due to the Coronavirus. Last week the Mobile World Congress, the year’s biggest smartphone event revealed it would be cancelling the show due to the growing threat of the Coronavirus.

However, PAX East will still play host to a number of reveals one being the Baldur’s Gate 3 gameplay showcase which the developer announced yesterday would take place at the show.
