If you’re getting deja vu about Sony’s lack of E3 2021 presence then you’re not alone. This time last year while everyone was showing off their games during the busiest week in gaming, Sony was nowhere to be seen. Thankfully, the console maker hosted an event in early July where they finally unveiled the PS5 and some new games. History is going to repeat itself this year as according to a report, Sony is looking to do the same thing in early July as the company has a few things to show us.
According to a somewhat reliable leaker named QuimSix, Sony is eyeing out 8 July to host the event. While there is very little information as to what the showcase will include, the leaker suggests that gamers will see GTA V Enhanced Edition in the flesh for the first time.

Other than that we have nothing else. Sony recently hosted a Horizon Forbidden West State of Play stream. This showcase was strictly based on the upcoming open-world action-adventure. However, players still don’t know what is next for the company. Other than Kena: Bridge of Spirits and Horizon Forbidden West, gamers don’t have much to look forward to in 2021.
Hopefully, the PS5 July showcase will highlight the future of gaming for the platform and reveal new projects and gaming plans Sony has up its sleeves. We can only hope so at this point. Microsoft’s E3 2021 showcase includes 30 games of which 27 of them were Game Pass titles. The landscape is changing drastically. Sony needs to give PS5 owners a little bit of love after this madness that has been E3 2021.
We know God of War and Gran Turismo 7 won’t release this year but with six months to go, what else do PS5 owners have to look forward to?
