March State of Play

Sony is Hosting a State of Play Today (Sort Of) and Here’s When to Watch it

Sony has announced a new State of Play stream taking place today. Well, technically it isn’t today because the stream kicks off at 00:00 tomorrow morning in South Africa. The company says the stream will last 20 minutes and focus on new game announcements and updates for PS4 and PS5.

Sony says there will also be a focus on Japanese developers during the stream meaning we might get an update for Final Fantasy XVI. Sadly, the company has made it clear that we won’t see any updates on PS VR2.

If you’re a night owl and want to watch the stream, it will start at 00:00 SAT over on YouTube and Twitch. If you’re not in South Africa and you’re reading this, the stream starts at 2pm PT, 5pm ET and 23:00 CET.

Rumours of a March State of Play have been swirling around for some time already. While we want to reassure you that Sony will announce its PlayStation Game Pass competitor, it might not happen. Multiple insiders have reported that the company is prepping to announce and release the service. Last week, Sony converted PS Now subscriptions to PlayStation Plus and yesterday, the PS5 had a mysterious new system software update.

By the look of things, this service might be ready to go. Then again, you never know these days. However, the stream will play host to some game announcements so there’s a good chance we will finally get an update on Hogwarts Legacy. As for the Japanese developers, it is hard to say what they will bring to the stream at this stage.

Of course, if you don’t make the stream, we will have the full update on all the coverage tomorrow morning for you to read over.
