Sony Launches New Bravia XR 2021 TV Range in South Africa – Pricing and Details

South Africans can now head out and purchase one of Sony’s new Bravia XR TV sets at a retailer near them. The company has launched its newest flagship TVs in the country that span eight new sets. This includes a new A80J OLED model, X90J Full-Array LED and X85J which is an Ultra HD TV.

Sony’s new Bravia XR range is pushing this whole new Cognitive Processor XR that drives the TV set and enables some incredible new features. For example, the chip can now analyse the sound position in the picture and align the output of the sound to travel across the display depending on where it originates from. This, in turn, creates a unique 3D surround experience that shoots sound out from the panel.

The Sony Bravia Cognitive Processor XR chip also enhances the image of the display depending on the content viewers are watching and the games they are playing.

Managing Director, Sony Middle East & Africa, says:

“We are proud to bring the Cognitive Processor XR, the brain of the BRAVIA TV range and a world first, to the region. In recent times, as we spend more time at home, we are relying on TVs to keep us entertained with high-quality, well-produced content. Responding to the demand from our customers, Sony has innovated yet again with the game-changing Cognitive Processor XR. It can intelligently detect and analyse each object in the picture to produce exceptional detail and contrast for a more realistic picture. It makes for a revolutionary TV viewing experience.”

The new Sony Bravia XR range is a little bit more expensive than last year’s lineup. Each TV set has seen an R2,000 – R4,000 jump in price depending on the model. If you want the best of the best OLED, you’ll need to fork out R79,999 for the 77-inch Sony Bravia A80J. The X90Jalso starts at R32,999 compared to the X90H at R29,999.
