If you plan on unlocking the Platinum trophy for God of War Ragnarok then you’ll get special congratulations from Sony. The company is sending out emails to those who earned the trophy congratulating them on their achievement.
Sadly, the email doesn’t come with anything special. Certain Platinum trophies in the past were used to unlock special avatars users could redeem for their PlayStation Network accounts. In fact, God of War 2018’s Platinum trophy came with a cool set of avatars. However, that is not the case with God of War Ragnarok.

The email does come with a personalized message from Sony while also detailing the amount of time you spent playing the game in order to unlock the Platinum. It also details which day of the week you spent the most time playing the game.
My email says I played for 22 hours. This is definitely incorrect as my game time was 65 hours when I unlocked the last trophy. However, I think the timer only started counting when the game was officially released and did not count my review game time which was around 40 hours before the game’s launch.
It also says I played the game the most on Wednesdays. Likely because I had less loadshedding on those days.
While the lack of a cool avatar is a letdown, it is still nice to see Sony keeping an eye out for those who spend the extra time unlocking all the trophies in the game. Although I have still yet to receive my Bloodborne Platinum email :(.
