Sony to Livestream the PlayStation Awards 2018 on 3 December

The PlayStation Awards 2018 will be taking place on 3 December 2018 and Sony has announced that they will be live streaming the event over on the Japanese PlayStation YouTube channel. The event will be narrated by Jon Kariba who is known for his voice work in the Winning Eleven series and Hatsune Matsushima, the actress that appeared on Night Detective 2.

The ceremony will revolve around the biggest games of 2018 and see Sony Interactive Entertainment reward the best of the best of the year past. A few categories also include various sale milestones such as a Gold Prize for reaching 500,000 and a Platinum Prize for reaching 1,000,000 shipments and digital sales.

There is also a PlayStation Network Award for the top-three titles in network sales from 1 October 2017 to 30 September 2018, a User’s Choice award that goes to the top 10 titles as voted for by players and a PlayStation VR Award that goes to the top three games that contributed to the sales of PS VR. Last but not least is an Indies and Developer Awards that also goes to the top three titles that contributed to the growth of PlayStation.

In a nutshell, the PlayStation Awards are all about rewarding games and developers for helping grow the PlayStation brand through their games and experiences.
