Sony has officially showcased the PS5 UI in a new State of Play video. The showcase is centred around the console’s user experience and features what the company claims is a “next-generation” UI that quickly connects players to great games and their communities.
The new PS5 Control Center provides immediate access to everything players need with a single press of the PlayStation button on the controller. In addition, players don’t even need to leave the game they are playing to pull up the menu.
Sony added a new feature called Activities, designed to bring you closer to the key elements of gameplay. Activities are displayed via on-screen cards in the Control Center, which enables you to discover new gameplay opportunities, go back to things you missed, jump directly into levels or challenges you want to play, and much more. Some Activity cards can be put in picture-in-picture mode, so you can view them without having to leave the game.
Navigating the interface, switching between games, and hopping into online matches occurs quickly, The UX is has been rebuilt the entire software stack from the console to the network to bring you a truly next-generation experience. Sony believes the less time you spend waiting to interact with the system, the more time you will have to spend playing games.
The company claims there are some changes that may arrive before launch and the PS5 UI in the video down below is still in beta. Take a look at the full detailed video down below. Find out more here.
