Assassin's Creed Mirage Delayed Internally Ubisoft

South African Assassin’s Creed: Mirage Customers Asked to Pay More

Assassin’s Creed: Mirage is releasing on 12 October and if you have pre-ordered the game already, you’ve likely received a mail from your retailer asking for more money. That’s because the game price is increasing in South Africa.

Before you freak out, the price hike isn’t as drastic as it seems. While last week’s scare with Diablo 4 and Final Fantasy XVI has left us fragile when it comes to local game prices, this Assassin’s Creed: Mirage price increase isn’t anywhere close to that.

Starting today, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage will cost you a bit more across all game editions. Firstly, the Standard Edition has been increased by R100 from R899 to R999. The Assassin’s Creed: Mirage Deluxe Edition has gone up by R200 from R1,099 to R1,299.

Lastly, the Collector’s Edition has gone up by quite a bit. You’ll pay R400 more for it at R2,999 instead of R2,599. Keep in mind that the South African version of the Collector’s Edition is actually quite a bargain. The game comes bundled with the Deluxe Edition which isn’t happening in most other regions. In a way, you’re actually saving some cash.

If you have received a request to pay extra for your game then don’t be surprised. This is expected given the current disaster that is our exchange rate. Keep in mind that Assassin’s Creed: Mirage pre-orders also went live in 2022 and a lot has changed since then. With the game production in its final stretch, the cost of manufacturing these different versions is likely a lot higher than it was when pre-orders went live.

Here’s the official new pricing for Assassin’s Creed: Mirage in South Africa.

  • Standard Edition – R999 (was R899)
  • Deluxe Edition – R1299 (was R1099)
  • Collector’s Edition – R2999 (was R2599)

Keep in mind that the Collector’s Edition is currently sold out. You can still pre-order the Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition
