[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”#C9FF12″ class=”” size=”21″]“We are very excited to roll out our ‘Go BIG Again’ campaign, which is the culmination of a coordinated industry effort to establish a responsible reopening strategy for the full spectrum of the local cinema business. All of South Africa’s cinema exhibitors, film distributors and international studio representatives, along with other industry stakeholders, joined hands and have been collaborating for the past few months to effectively map out the reopening of the industry on non- competitive terms. We are also very grateful for the overwhelming support from our partners in the media and entertainment community, who have demonstrated keen interest over the past few months and teamed up with us to launch this campaign nationwide. It’s time to go BIG again!”[/perfectpullquote]

Of course, visiting a cinema for the next few months is not going to be the same so there are a few things you need to keep in mind before heading out to watch a movie.

  • Online bookings in advance are encouraged – Cinemas are now limited to the number of people allowed inside. Book to make sure you get a spot in the new limited-capacity setups.
  • Wear a mask – Don’t be a Karen. All staff and customers need to wear masks during your cinema visit. Customers may take their masks off to eat and drink snack only inside the cinema auditoria but are urged to put them back on afterwards.
  • Temperature checks – Everyone will have their temperature checked upon arrival.
  • Sanitize – Customers are urged to sanitize their hands at the designated stations throughout the cinema.
  • Social distancing – Please practice safe distancing in the ticket and snack area leaving at least 1.5m of distance between you and another person. Find out more on the GoBIGagain site.
