Horizon Forbidden West Story Interview

South Africans Hit With Horizon Forbidden West Delays and Cancellations

Horizon Forbidden West is set to launch next week Friday, 18 February for PS5 and PS4. There is bad news, both the Horizon Forbidden West Collector’s and Regalla Edition are facing a possible delay in South Africa and the PS5 Special Edition has mostly been cancelled due to low stock quantities.

UPDATE

Due to the Storm Eunice, which has caused delays for the Elden Ring Launch Day and Collector’s Edition, Horizon Forbidden West Regalla and Collector’s Editions have been further delayed. The expected launch date in South Africa is now 3/4 March 2022.

Multiple retailers in the country have emailed customers notifying them of the delay. The delay is only expected to last 10 days so hopefully, you’ll have your fancy version of the game by 1 March. As for the PS5 Special Edition, customers have been informed by their retailer already “if” an alternate plan has been made for their order.

Some retailers have offered a PS4 version of the Special Edition to customers which allows them to upgrade to the PS5 version at no extra cost. However, some retailers have had their stock quantities cancelled completely leaving pre-order customers with no other option but to downgrade to the standard edition. Thankfully, some retailers are offering the Special Edition in-game content to customers in this case.

Horizon Forbidden Regalia Edition

If you have pre-ordered the Horizon Forbidden West Collector’s or Regalla Edition, PlayStation South Africa says that if the 10-day delay does happen they will still provide users with a copy of the game at launch. This means you can still enjoy your adventure through the Forbidden West and won’t have to wait for your Collector’s or Regalla Edition to arrive.

Once the delay has been confirmed, more details will be provided to you by your retailer on how you can access your launch day game. Let’s hope the delay isn’t too long.
