The first trailer for the highly anticipated sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has arrived. The biggest surprise here is that the upcoming sequel, which is called Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, will actually be a two-part movie.
The trailer picks up right after the events of Into The Spider-Verse and sees Gwen Stacy drop in on Miles Morales. She invites him to go “out” for a bit in which he refuses because he’s grounded. He clearly breaks the rules because the next frame sees Miles swinging across multiple dimensions that all pack their own unique art styles too.

We also get a quick glimpse at Spider-Man 2099 which confirms what we already knew at the end of the first film. The film’s description says that Miles is transported across the Multiverse and joins forces with Gwen Stacy and a “new team” of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered before.
Sony hasn’t revealed who this villain is yet. They also haven’t shared any details as to why the film has been split into two parts but nevertheless, we are excited to see it all take shape soon. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Part One is set to launch in cinemas on 7 October 2022. Part Two is expected to release in 2023.
