Marvel’s Avengers ended its second phase of beta tests this past weekend. The game is due to release on 4 September 2020 and plans to receive a load of new DLC heroes as the universe expands. According to a previous leak, the unannounced heroes include She Hulk, War Machine and more. In addition, we know Spider-Man is arriving in the game too as a PlayStation exclusive character. But when? Well, according to UK retailer GAME, Spider-Man is set to arrive in Marvel’s Avengers in March 2021.

GAME sent out a newsletter advertising the upcoming superhero game pushing the PlayStation and Marvel’s Avengers exclusive character. The newsletter reads;
[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”#41F52F” class=”” size=”21″]“PlayStation is the only place to play as Spider-Man when he swings into Marvel’s Avengers next March.”[/perfectpullquote]
Keep in mind that this has not been confirmed yet. However, it is not the first time a retailer has leaked information on the Spider-Man PlayStation exclusivity deal. Before Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix announced the character, a retailer leaked the deal.
Does this mean Spider-Man is arriving in Marvel’s Avengers in March 2021 on PS5 and PS4? Perhaps so. The timing also makes sense given the game’s September launch. Five months is more than enough time to give players to finish the main game and max the current characters out. The real question is when is Hawkeye arriving and will another cross-platform character arrive alongside Spider-Man? If this is true then Square Enix may plan on releasing a new hero every two to three months to keep the game’s content fresh.
