Spirit of the North 2 Announced for Consoles and PC

Spirit of the North 2, the sequel to the acclaimed 2019 adventure game from developer Infuse Studio, is officially getting a sequel. Spirit of the North 2 was announced during the recent Xbox Partner Showcase, showing the playable main figure, the fox, journeying with a raven companion to return home and restore the lost guardians.

Beyond the reveal trailer, not much else is known about the game other than it’s coming ‘soon’ without a specified release window or date. The first story details reveal that players will once again control a fox but this time, they have a raven companion who might be vital for environmental puzzle-solving and traversal. There’s an evil shaman that needs to be defeated in order for the lost guardians to be restored too.

The first story synopsis for Spirit of the North 2 reads:

“Unveil the mysteries of a beautiful ancient world in this breathtaking 3rd-Person Adventure, a sequel to the acclaimed Spirit of the North. Take on the role of an isolated fox with a raven companion on a quest to restore the lost guardians and return home. In an ancient world left in ruin, embark on the journey of an isolated fox far from home. With the help of a wise Raven companion, seek out the lost legendary guardians and release them from the grasp of the dark shaman Grimnir.”

An Enhanced Edition of Spirit of the North was officially released on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S back in 2020, featuring slightly updated visuals and various technical improvements. While Spirit of the North 2 was revealed at the Xbox showcase, it will also release on PS5 and PC.

The Xbox Partner Showcase arrived after Microsoft reported a record Q1 in its fiscal year thanks to the launch of Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG, Starfield.
