Nintendo has announced a new spin-off Splatoon game coming exclusively to the Switch 2 console called Splatoon Raiders.
Splatoon Raiders will see players take on the role of a mechanic. Players will go on an adventure in the mysterious Spirhalite Islands alongside the splat-tacular Deep Cut trio.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much else to go on right now. The trailer, which you can watch below, shows the island and some freak storms around it. Players might be accompanied by a robot companion by the look of things.
Nintendo says more information on Splatoon Raiders will be announced in the future. So we don’t have a release date or even a release window yet.
However, there is good news. Nintendo has confirmed that Splatoon 3 will get its own Switch 2 update this week. Splatoon 3 version 10.0.0 will bring with it enhanced visuals and better performance to Switch 2 consoles. This will be a game patch and not a “full Switch 2 Edition” game, so you’ll still be able to play with and against OG Switch owners.
The update is also bringing with it 30 new weapon kits and the Urchin Underpass map. This content patch is free for all owners of the game.
The update features the Splatlands collection, consisting of new weapons from the Barazushi and Emberz brands. Based on previous weapons, these new additions have fresh looks with different sub and special weapons.
There are a total of 30 new weapon kits in this collection. A returning stage from the original Splatoon game on Wii U, called Urchin Underpass, will also be added to the stage rotation.
