Split Fiction

Split Fiction Gets New Co-Op Gameplay Trailer Showing Off Side Stories

Hazelight has released a new trailer for the upcoming Split Fiction co-op game. If you don’t know, Split Fiction is the successor to the incredible It Takes Two, which originally won Game of the Year back in 2021 at The Game Awards. The trailer showcases some cool-looking level design, but most importantly, the game’s new “side stories”. Along with the trailer, game director Josef Fares also announced that it has gone gold.

These side stories are described as “hidden worlds” inside each level. It seems that players can discover these hidden worlds by finding spheres that teleport them away to another location. These locations are seemingly different entirely from the main game and in them, hold unique story content. Think of them like side quests, but instead of completing them in the main game, you’ll be whisked away to new locations.

Examples of these include a level where players can ride sandfish across a desert, flying through space and avoiding debris, and water skiing across a futuristic-looking island.

At the moment, it isn’t clear what players will obtain by finding all these side stories. However, even if they don’t unlock anything, these worlds look awesome and seem to offer some unique gameplay mechanics that players can enjoy.

Given the success of It Takes Two, I am sure Split Fiction is going to deliver an incredible experience. We also don’t have long to wait. The game is expected to launch on 6 March for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. You’ll also be able to share the game with friends thanks to the Friend Pass system. Check out the trailer below.
