While fans are expecting updates on Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2, we’ll have to be patient and wait for any information about these two anticipated upcoming releases.
So far, Square Enix has been quite hush-hush about their bigger Final Fantasy games. Final Fantasy XVI was first revealed two years ago as a PS5 exclusive, but has since gone radio silent while the developers quietly worked on the project.
Meanwhile, Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 might also be revealed at some point this year as the original game celebrates its 25th anniversary, though that’s simply speculation on our part. We also don’t know how many parts the remake will encompass, but given its lofty ambitions, it might take several years for the entirety of the remake to complete itself.
In the meantime, fans can look forward to Team Ninja’s reimagining of the first Final Fantasy game in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, which releases on 15 March 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
