Netflix has released the first teaser for the final season of Squid Game. It doesn’t really show us much, but it manages to build up a decent amount of tension to keep you anticipating the June debut of the show.
The Squid Game season 3 teaser revolves around a gumball machine that features two different coloured gums. It is likely how the teams are chosen for the new season; the participants crank the machine and will get either one of the other colours, which essentially decides the team.
There are some other flashing shots in the teaser too, which give us a good look at some of the games we’ll see. The new season picks up directly after the end of the second season, which ended in a cliffhanger.
Keep in mind that Season 3 marks the end of the show. Netflix plans to finish off this season by wrapping up the existing Player 456 saga. However, the streaming service isn’t done with the Squid Game universe. There are plans to expand on the idea through spinoffs and the mobile game.
Squid Game season 3 debuts on 27 June, just a few months after season 2 was released back in December 2024.
Picking up from season 2’s devastating cliffhanger, season 3 thrusts Gi-hun (Player 456) back into the brutal heart of the games, determined to dismantle them once and for all. Still haunted by the betrayal and loss of his closest ally, Jung-bae (Player 390), Gi-hun faces new perils — including the Front Man, who shockingly infiltrated their rebellion disguised as Player 001.
