STALKER 2 is now available on PC and Xbox. Reviews dropped yesterday just a few hours before the game’s launch and some weren’t great. Critics have slammed the game’s poor performance and bugs on both platforms. GSC Game World did release a hefty 140GB patch just a day before prior to the game’s launch but it seems the update arrived a bit too late to fix review reception.
We haven’t shared our review yet. It should be coming in the next day following testing the update. Regardless, GSC Game World says the studio is well aware of the issues in STALKER 2. The game’s lack of polish is being worked on and the studio plans to provide constant fixes to improve the experience.
In a statement, GSC Game World says the studio is monitoring player feedback and putting attention on the most important issues first. Larger updates will come at a later date and new content will be pushed into late December as a result of the shift in focus.
STALKER 2 user reviews aren’t doing so bad even if most of the critic reviews have slammed the game’s rough edges. On Steam, user reviews are 77% at the time of writing. So the massive 140GB patch seems to have fixed what critics faced during the review period. However, we will still have to wait and see how this goes as the game’s launch goes into the next few days.
