STALKER 2 has officially been delayed to 2024. While all current digital marketplaces still list the game as a 2023 release, the latest trailer from the studio itself has announced a new release window. The release window at the end of the trailer is currently Q1 2024.
This was coming. Yesterday we reported that a new fact sheet also hinted at a delay after it stated the new 2024 release date. However, the trailer is a confirmation of these reports now.

At least we got a new trailer for this whole story. The trailer is a full gameplay video and showcases some gunfights, supernatural events, environments and more. If anything, it showcases just how incredible STALKER 2 looks right now and should keep fans happy until its launch next year.
Of course, we don’t have a set release date yet. The “Q1 2024” could mean anywhere between January and March next year.
STALKER 2 has been through some troubled development. The studio behind the game, GSC Game World was directly impacted by the Russian invasion of Ukraine and was forced to relocate to the Czech Republic. Some developers had to stay behind and they have continued to work on STALKER 2 from the war-torn country.
GCS Game World has seen its own staff and team volunteering in efforts against the Ukraine invasion as well as signing up for the country’s armed forces. The studio released an update earlier this year that touched on the heartbreaking stories of the team and even some of the members it has lost in the past year.
STALKER 2 is coming to PC and Xbox Series X/S at launch. Check out the latest gameplay trailer below.
