Stalker 2 Heart of Chornobyl Delay 2024

STALKER 2 Has Been Delayed Again – Now Coming in November

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl has been delayed again. This time, developer GSC Game World has moved the release date from 5 September down by two months to 20 November 2024. The studio says this will give the team enough time to address some “unexpected anomalies.”

“We know you might be tired of waiting, and we truly appreciate your patience,” said GSC Game World in a new YouTube video for STALKER 2 titled “Really, Again?”. The studio continues, “These two additional months will give us the chance to fix more ‘unexpected anomalies’ (or simply ‘bugs’, as you call them).”

Not all is doom and gloom, though. GSC Game World confirmed that a new developer deep dive video will arrive on 12 August that give players a closer look at the anticipated first-person shooter. It stated:

“S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is shaping up to be everything we envisioned, with the launch nearly here, and we are incredibly excited to share more with you. To give you a taste of what’s coming, we’re thrilled to announce the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Developer Deep Dive video, which will be released on Xbox media channels on August 12. This detailed update will include exclusive interviews, lots of new footage, and a full video walkthrough of one of the game quests. We can’t wait for you to see it and get a comprehensive understanding of how the game looks and plays.”

STALKER 2 has been delayed multiple times in the past. As far back as we’ve reported, it was delayed back in April 2022 to launch in December that same year. It was then delayed again in June 2022 after the studio’s relocation due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In 2023, it got pushed back even further into September 2024 and finally, 20 November this year. Fans remain enthusiastic that GSC Game World will be able to deliver a fantastic game in the end – the response to this delay is more in support than disappointment, which is great to see.

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl will launch on 20 November 2024 for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
