In November last year, the world lost a legend when Stan Lee, the creator of dozens of Marvel heroes and villains we all know and love, passed away at the age of 95. The last ever Stan Lee cameo appeared in Avengers: Endgame and there’s even a character based on him in World of Warcraft to honour him. Now, it looks like a street in New York will be co-named after the legend and it will be called Stan Lee Way.

As reported by the New York Post, the City Council has already voted and approved naming a street in the Bronx after the late Stan Lee. All that is left at the time of writing is for the Mayor to sign off on the proposed co-naming.
Co-naming means that the old street name will still show up (University Avenue between Brandt Place and West 176th) on maps and street signs, alongside the new name, Stan Lee Way.
Stan Lee once lived in the Bronx, specifically, in 1720 University Avenue. He also attended high school at DeWitt Clinton in the Bronx. This is a fantastic way to honour the Marvel legend and if you ever do take a trip to New York, be sure to drive down the street screaming “Excelsior!”.
Hopefully, the New York Mayor will sign off on this change soon as we would love to see the street name go up, forever immortalizing the marvellous legend.
