Adam Williams, the former lead writer on Stars Wars Eclipse, has left Quantic Dream to form a new studio. Star Wars Eclipse is the upcoming narrative-driven adventure title from the studio behind Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human. While it was initially announced years ago, the project has seemingly gone through setbacks such as the studio struggling to hire new staff.
Adam Williams posted the update on his LinkedIn profile that he was leaving Quantic Dream after being with the company since 2015. Williams revealed that he was forming a new studio, though didn’t offer any more information about it at this stage. It seems like Williams’ last project at Quantic Dream was Star Wars Eclipse, which is still in development without a release date in sight.
Williams wrote in his message:
“After almost 10 years at Quantic Dream, I am leaving to found a new studio, together with a group of very talented designers and developers. We can’t say too much just yet. We are working on something very innovative, very special and, for now, very secret. More on that soon. I’ve already been in touch with many of you guys at Quantic Dream and Lucasfilm, to thank you for everything on Detroit and Eclipse. It’s been a great adventure. A big thank you to the team, for taking this leap with us, and to the investors, for being the ideal partners on the next adventure. More on that, also, soon.”
The former lead writer teased that his new studio was already working on “something very innovative” but we’ll only hear about it at a later stage.
As for Star Wars Eclipse, Quantic Dream has been very quiet about the project for the last few years as it’s still in active development. Hopefully the reports about it releasing as far as 2028 aren’t true, though only time will tell.
