Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the upcoming anticipated sequel to 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, has been delayed. Thankfully, it’s not a massive delay as it has only been pushed back by six weeks. Developer Respawn Entertainment stated that it will need a little bit of extra time to polish the game and make sure that it’s ready for launch.
In a recent statement posted to social media by Respawn Entertainment, the studio confirmed that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will now release a little later than planned. It was originally meant to launch on 17 March, but it looks like a new release date of 28 April has been set. Delays are somewhat expected now for most AAA games but it’s understandable as developers want to make sure that games are in good condition and ready for release without any technical problems.

Respawn’s statement starts by mentioning that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is currently in the crucial final stages of development, including bug fixes, stability, performance and more:
“For the last three years, the Jedi team here at Respawn has poured its collective heart and soul into Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and we are proud to say the next chapter in the tale of Cal Kestis is content complete. We are now focused entirely on the final stage: bug fixes to enhance performance, stability, polish, and most importantly, the player experience. Jedi: Survivor is a direct response to the feedback from our community, delivering expansive destinations to explore, evolved combat and traversal, and of course, the continuation of Cal and BD’s story.”
Respawn added that it will need a little bit more time for additional polishing and thanked fans for their patience:
“In order for the team to hit the Respawn quality bar, provide the team the time they need, and achieve the level of polish our fans deserve, we have added six crucial weeks to our release schedule – Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will now launch globally on April 28th. Thanks to EA and Respawn for giving us the time to deliver the best experience for our players, and to all of you for your understanding.”
Survivor will pick up after the events of Fallen Order and once again follows protagonist and remaining Jedi Cal Kestis as he flees the Empire following Order 66.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will now release on 28 April 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
