Starfield Bethesda Game Studios Leak Details

Starfield Fans Create Petition to ‘Make it PS5 Exclusive’

Starfield is hot on its way for Xbox Series X/S and PC this September but some PlayStation players are apparently feeling a bit left out. A few like-minded individuals have now banded together to create a petition on Change.org that demands Bethesda and Xbox ‘make it a PS5 exclusive’.

The petition was started by Benjamin Dickey who rambles about Xbox fans not deserving Starfield as an exclusive. Amidst the lengthy statement, the user does make a good point about exclusivity potentially hurting gamers. However, that’s quickly sidelined when you realise the whole idea behind the petition is to make Starfield a PS5 exclusive title, completely negating and contradicting any valid points the user was trying to make. It’s a silly petition that the community has actively mocked, despite already garnering over 2,500 signatures.

Of course, it’s entirely possible that this is some elaborate prank or troll meant to rile up players as the user’s description is almost too comical to be serious. Additionally, making Starfield a PS5 exclusive title instead of an Xbox exclusive won’t solve any of the problems brought up either – unless they’re blissfully unaware of that contradictory point, we’re inclined to believe that this petition shouldn’t be taken to heart.

Since Microsoft purchased Bethesda and parent company ZeniMax Media a few years ago, most first-party games released under the publisher have been Xbox exclusives unless previous deals were struck (in the case of Ghostwire: Tokyo and Deathloop). While Starfield is a new IP and probably won’t face a brunt of backlash, The Elder Scrolls is a popular, beloved RPG franchise so it will be interesting to see these discussions pop up again should The Elder Scroll 6 be confirmed as an Xbox console exclusive too. There’s a high probability that it will.

Starfield releases on 6 September 2023 for Xbox Series X/S and PC. It will also arrive day one on Xbox Game Pass.
