Starfield will officially support DLSS next week as Bethesda adds the feature to the game on Steam. At launch, Starfield only featured AMD FSR 2 due to a partnership between Bethesda and AMD. You could get DLSS in Starfield but it relied on a third-party mod to be enabled.
Bethesda says that next week through a special Steam Beta update, Starfield will get DLSS support alongside HDR control toggles. Both features weren’t available at launch. Although, you would think HDR toggles would be a basic feature.

Bethesda says that players who want to try DLSS and these HDR toggles simply need to opt-in to try them via the Steam Beta options. The studio will then test these features out for a few weeks before rolling them out to all PC users. The Xbox version of Starfield will then get the HDR toggle at the time same.
We’ve been hard at work on updates and will be putting our next one into Steam Beta next week. This update will feature Nvidia DLSS support with frame generation, display and HDR controls for supported systems, and other optimizations and improvements. You’ll be able to opt-in to try it via the Steam Beta options. We’d love your feedback before it goes live for all PC and Xbox players after that. Stay tuned for the specifics soon, and thanks for playing!
Bethesda followed up by stating that DLSS is, of course, only available for NVIDIA GPU owners. The studio also confirmed that Starfield will get AMD FSR3 in a future update.
