Starfield Bethesda Game Studios Leak Details

Starfield Showcase May Take Some Time as Delay Worries Continue

Earlier this year, Xbox and Bethesda assured players that a dedicated Starfield showcase would arrive in the near future, promising a deep dive into the upcoming anticipated sci-fi RPG. We have now received an update from Bethesda stating that the showcase may take a while as the developer continues “sorting stuff out”, leading fans to worry about more potential delays.

Speaking on the Starfield channel of Bethesda’s official Discord, the studio’s community manager, VaultOfDaedalus, explained, “We’ll have more info to share on the showcase when it’s ready to be, still sorting stuff out. I know that’s not the answer you want, but nothing specific is being withheld.”

Replies in the Discord came from concerned fans who believe that another delay might be on the table. Starfield was originally scheduled to launch in November 2022 but was delayed to give Bethesda more time to polish the game. Previous reports suggest that it will launch sometime between June and August, with June being the most discussed release month. It’s possible that Bethesda could delay the game further as we’ve received very little marketing or updates since the initial gameplay trailer.

It’s understandable why fans might be concerned about another delay for Starfield. If the developer has yet to nail down a showcase, it’s hard to imagine that the game will be ready to release within the next few months unless we’re surprised.

On the plus side, the latter half of 2023 is mostly barren of any major releases, with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 possibly being the exception. To avoid the current busy calendar of AAA games stacked in the first half of the year, Bethesda may choose to push Starfield to a late 2023 release. We can’t say for certain but we’ll surely get more information from Bethesda and Xbox in the coming weeks regarding when we can expect the showcase, which will hopefully contain a concrete release date too.

Starfield is currently in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
