Ahead of tonight’s PlayStation State of Play event, ResetEra users might have accidentally leaked all the announcements thanks to several updates being made on the official PlayStation Store. A few of the updated games include the highly anticipated JRPG Final Fantasy XVI, Gotham Knights, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum and more.
The big game on everyone’s lips is Final Fantasy XVI from Square Enix, which has been mostly quiet since unveiling the JRPG in 2020 at another State of Play event. Tonight’s State of Play will run for roughly 20 minutes long and include a number of updates from third-party studios. If the listing is correct, then PlayStation will likely feature Final Fantasy XVI, Gotham Knights and more at the upcoming event.

The full list of games that got updated on the PlayStation Store ahead of the State of Play tonight may be our biggest indication that PlayStation is ready to show them off in some capacity. Those mentioned are:
- Final Fantasy XVI
- Gotham Knights
- Gollum
- Tchia
- Dark Pictures Anthology
- Voice of Cards
We recently got a new look at Warner Bros. Montreal’s Gotham Knights thanks to DC FanDome, though that was just a CG trailer. Likewise, we didn’t get a release date for the game either, so many are hoping that they’ll announce it at the State of Play. The same could be said about Final Fantasy XVI, which has reportedly been nearing completion on its development and is ready to ship as early as next year. Other interesting titles mentioned include The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, which has also gone without any major updates for a while, and potentially a new look at the next game in the Dark Pictures Anthology.
As with all rumours and leaks, we recommend taking this with a grain of salt for now. Tonight’s State of Play will run for around 20 minutes and will kick off at 11 PM SAST.
