Steam Breaks Previous Record With 30 Million Simultaneous Online Users

Steam Built-in Game Recording Now Available For All Users

All Steam users can now record in-game footage without the need for a third-party app. Valve has rolled out the new Steam Game Recording tool which has been in beta for a few weeks now. The tool gives users a quick way to record footage and audio with the option to save it and share it at any time.

Of course, you have likely used this in the past already across other apps such as the Xbox Game Bar, NVIDIA GeForce and AMD Adrenalin. However, this Steam tool is built into the client so it is easily accessible while you’re already in a game.

Once you have updated your Steam build, enable the tool by going into Settings first. Then, simply press Ctrl + F11 to trigger the recording overlay. You can then select the length, quality and the storage location for the recording. Valve says the Steam Game Recording tool works on any game across Steam as well as non-Steam games which are added to the client.

The tool gives users quick access to recording features. There’s also an advanced export option that lets you export your video at a certain bitrate and quality. There’s also a way to enable to tool to continuously record while you’re playing. So if anything happens that you want to save, you can quickly press the hotkey and chop up that section of the clip. Once selected, it can be saved or sent to a friend.
