Steam Next Fest October 2024

Steam Next Fest Kicks Off on 14 October – 4 Demos to Try

Steam Next Fest kicks off again on 14 October and marks a big event for PC gaming. The week-long event sees hundreds of games launch on Steam as demos for players to test out. Some of these games are in very early access while others are just about to launch. These demos and playtests let players get an early taste of the content coming soon to Steam. For many, it is the perfect window shopping day where they can wishlist titles they enjoy.

Steam Next Fest starts on 14 October and runs all the way up to 21 October. Here are five demos I know about that you should maybe give a go during the week. I am hoping to play more during the event and perhaps recommend even more as I discover cool new games.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate

Only available on Apple Arcade at the moment, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is expected to launch on PC on 6 November. This co-op beat ’em up arcade game sees the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles travel through inter-dimensional portals to take on the foot clan and stop their evil plans. The demo for this game is actually available already on Steam so you can download it now. It supports Steam Deck and you can also play the demo in co-op. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is expected to launch on consoles at a later date. Visit the Steam page here.

Supervive

For the first time, Supervive will be fully playable during Steam Next Fest. Sure, the game has all the generic traits of every cliche game on the market these days. It is a battle royale and hero shooter combined into one but its unique look and stylish art style have kind of won me over already. There are 16 hunters to choose from each with their own cool play styles. There’s also a deep gear system where players are encouraged to build into certain classes. In the world of cancelled hero shooters, Supervive is trying something different. Play the demo during Steam Next Fest. Visit the Steam page here.

Achilles: Survivor

This upcoming single-player bullet heaven game sees players take on thousands of enemies as they try to survive through the onslaught. While on the surface Achilles: Survivor might look like your typical bullet heaven game, its building features make it quite unique. Throughout each stage, players can place down structures that offer various advantages. Some heal the player, some enhance their abilities and some deal damage to enemies. Combine that all with the game’s classic Diablo 2-like style, and I am ready to jump in. Try out Achilles: Survivor during the next Steam Next Fest. Visit the Steam page here.

Trash Goblin

Trash Goblin is a cosy wholesome shopkeeper game where players clean and restore trash. Players will polish, restore and cobble together lost trinkets as they grow their business and expand with better tools and items to use to clean even more trinkets. At the moment, there is already a demo available for Trash Goblin on Steam. However, during Steam Next Fest on 14 October, a new demo is launching with new content. The game is expected to hit early access on 6 November so this demo is the perfect time to try it out before then. Visit the Steam Page here.

Of course, there are going to be hundreds of more games available during Steam Next Fest. Many of which will offer hours of entertainment to players. Until the event goes live, we don’t know exactly which games will draw us in. These are four games I know will be available.
