Netflix purchased Albuquerque Studios in New Mexico in 2018 as the streaming platform vowed to spend over $1 billion in production on Netflix movies and TV shows over the next decade at the studios. Netflix employed over 2000 vendors alongside 1600 cast and crew members to man the new studios where Stranger Things is being shot.

The Stranger Things season 4 teaser trailer which dropped a few weeks ago showed a new location where Jim Hopper was spotted. However, Momita did not confirm whether or not this Russian-set trailer was shot at the new studios.

Netflix has yet to reveal any release date for the upcoming Stranger Things 4 but production is currently underway meaning it could roll out before the end of 2020. The previous season released on 4 July 2019 which could mean the next season could even release sometime in early 2021. We will have to wait and see how the show’s production plans play out in the coming months ahead.
