Stranger Things Star Joseph Quinn Narrated The Lords of the Fallen Trailer

The Lords of the Fallen, the sequel to 2014’x Lords of the Fallen, was officially announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live last night. Fans might be anticipating the return to the dark fantasy game world, but another unexpected fandom joined in on the fun. What some viewers may not know is that Joseph Quinn, who plays Eddie Munson on the Netflix series Stranger Things, actually narrated the reveal trailer.

Stranger Things‘ fourth season introduced a character named Eddie Munson who quickly shot to the top of the show’s most popular characters, largely thanks to a devoted fanbase. This also catapulted actor Joseph Quinn into the mainstream spotlight for “reasons” similar to that of fan-favourite Joe Keery, who plays Steve Harrington on the show.

Many Quinn fans, despite not knowing exactly what The Lords of the Fallen is, showed their support and strange enthusiasm after hearing the actor provide the narration for its announcement trailer. It’s unclear if Quinn will also have a starring voice role in the game, though we’ll likely hear more about it soon as more digging is done by the fanbase.

The Lords of the Fallen is not only a sequel to Lords of the Fallen, but also a revamp of the formula that will include new features like co-op gameplay. A handful of details emerged online following the RPG’s announcement, revealing that it will feature a vast world five times larger than that of the original. Additionally, it will include character creation and the familiar tough-as-nails gameplay that defines the Souls-like subgenre.

2014’s Lords of the Fallen wasn’t met with the best critical reception, with many praising its tone and setting but slamming its deliberately slow and clunky gameplay. Developer CI Games knows what it’s doing with the decision to grab Quinn for the reveal trailer’s narration. Hopefully this translates to a better overall game too.

The Lords of the Fallen doesn’t have a release date yet but it’s coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
