Stranger Things will come to an end with Season 5 according to Netflix. The creators of the show have announced that while they plan on wrapping up the current story with Season 5 (at a much later date), they are looking into a possible spin-off sometime in the future. In addition, the upcoming Stranger Things season 4 will release across two volumes later this year.
The first half, called Volume I, of the long awaited season 4 will be “bigger than ever” according to Netflix and will debut on 27 May. The second part, called Volume II of season 4 will then debut on 1 July. Netflix hasn’t revealed how many episodes will drop during these specific volumes yet.

We do know that Stranger Things 4 will include nine episodes in total. The season took almost two years to completely film and had over eight hundred pages of script. It is also expected to be twice as long as any past seasons. Netflix says Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging of the seasons to film but also the most rewarding one. Due to the sheer length, the streaming platform has decided to split the show into to volumes.
We don’t know much about Stranger Things season 4 but Netflix has announced the official tagline and description. The tagline reads “Every ending has a beginning” hinting that Season 4 might spell the start of the end already. The official description reads:
“It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time — and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.”
