Stray Release Date Leaked PlayStation PS4 PS5

Stray Release Date Leaked on PlayStation Database

The release date for the upcoming adventure game Stray by BlueTwelve Studio and publisher Annapurna Interactive has been leaked on the PlayStation database and it’s coming very soon. A date of 19 July 2022 was spotted on the database yesterday, meaning a June PlayStation event is more likely to happen now.

As spotted by Twitter account PlayStation Game Size, Stray‘s release date was leaked on the PlayStation database, supposedly available on 19 July 2022 at 8AM PT. This could simply be a placeholder date too, but we’ll probably hear more about it from Sony in the coming weeks.

Stray was first revealed in 2020 during PlayStation’s Future of Gaming event. The game allows players to step into the shoes (paws?) of a lost cat trying to return to his family in a world overrun by robots. According to the developers, Stray will feature exploration elements, puzzle-solving, platforming and more. It’s quite the unique premise.

Stray was also confirmed to launch on both PS4 and PS5, though no release date was ever given until this leak.

If the leak is to be believed, then PlayStation might be gearing up to host an event sometime in early June. This lines up with previous reports suggesting that Sony might air a smaller showcase in June, with a larger one planned for September. For the most part, PlayStation has been quiet about any of its potential upcoming projects in development from its numerous first-party studios.

If an event doesn’t happen in June, we can probably expect PlayStation to drop the release date for Stray sometime soon, either through a blog post or new video. If it’s simply a placeholder date, then we recommend taking all of this with a pinch of salt for now until we receive official confirmation.

Stray is currently in development for PS4 and PS5.
