Last night during the PlayStation State of Play, Capcom unveiled a new trailer for Street Fighter 6 which confirmed the return of both Cammy and Zangief. Additionally, a new character named Lily was also revealed. The game’s marketing is ramping up ahead of its release this June and we’re quickly getting more information and surprises closer to launch.
Capcom confirmed that Street Fighter 6 will launch with a total roster of 18 characters but we can probably expect more to arrive via DLC down the line. As it stands, the full starting character list includes Luke, Blanka, Jamie, Manon, Kimberly, Lily, JP, Dhalsim, Dee Jay, Cammy, Ryu, Ken, E. Honda, Guile, Chun-Li, Marisa, Zangief and Juri.

“The bear, bird and bee round out the diverse 18-character launch roster when Street Fighter 6 launches on June 2, 2023,” said Capcom following the State of Play. The gameplay revealed during the show gave us a glimpse at Cammy and Zangief’s new and familiar combos as well as Lily’s introduction to the series. Capcom described the new character:
“A descendant of the Thunderfoot tribe, Lily speaks with the spirits of nature, trusting in their guidance as she travels the globe. Don’t judge a book by its cover—her small stature conceals truly titanic power.”
Street Fighter 6 is not the only major Capcom release planned for this year. The Resident Evil 4 remake will also launch on 24 March and aims to shift the original game in a more horror-focused direction with more emphasis on atmosphere and survival while still retaining the spirit of the classic. An impressive third trailer of the survival horror remake was also revealed during the State of Play.
Street Fighter 6 promises to have a large amount of content at launch, presumably addressing the lack of content in the launch version of Street Fighter V. The game launches on 2 June 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out the latest trailer below.
