Street Fighter 6, the next major fighting game from developer Capcom, is nearing its June release date and we’re slowly getting more information about the game. It seems like players will now get to choose between downloading the game’s single-player or multiplayer modes as a recent Xbox listing suggests that they will be separate downloads.
First spotted by EventHubs, the Xbox Store page for Street Fighter 6 was recently updated to mention the game’s Fighting Ground and World Tour modes will be separate add-ons when downloading the game. Fighting Ground is the hub for all multiplayer modes including local and online battles as well as training and arcade modes. The Battle Hub, an online lobby, presumably falls under Fighting Ground too. World Tour contains all your single-player elements such as exploring Metro City and beyond.

As of writing, the Xbox Store still lists this information. It’s likely that PS4 and PS5 players will also have the same option to install the single-player or multiplayer mode first. This isn’t a new feature as Call of Duty also allows players to install either the single-player or multiplayer modes initially. It seems like Capcom knows there will be players who choose to skip the single-player and opt to just play the multiplayer or vice versa.
Street Fighter 6 is the next mainline installment in the long-running fighting game franchise. Built in Unreal Engine 5, the game promises to be a major graphical leap over its predecessors. The official description provided on Steam reads:
“Here comes Capcom’s newest challenger! Street Fighter 6 launches worldwide on June 2nd, 2023 and represents the next evolution of the series. Powered by Capcom’s proprietary RE ENGINE, the Street Fighter 6 experience spans across three distinct game modes featuring World Tour, Fighting Ground and Battle Hub.”
Street Fighter 6 launches on 2 June 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
