Rocksteady, the team behind the popular Batman Arkham series is now tackling a new bunch of DC characters – the Suicide Squad. Rockstead Studios finally revealed Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League game and it is arriving in 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X and PC. The game stars the infamous supervillain team and a bad Superman.
Following in the Rocksteady Arkham series’ footsteps, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will most likely feature a massive open world to explore, lots of DC characters to meet and of course, a brilliant story.
According to the press release, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is an action RPG with four playable characters. This includes Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang. Players can also join and invite up to three friends in a unique co-op mode. In addition, the entire game is playable solo with AI filling in the spots if you’re not playing with friends.
The game’s teaser trailer shows the four characters beating up a bunch of minions which seem to stem from supercomputer Brainiac. They are tasked at assassinating a mysterious “target.” Things take a turn when Superman appears with a pilot in his hand. However, Superman fires heat vision at the pilot killing. The Suicide Square Task Force X then realize their mysterious target is actually Superman.
The game takes place after the events of Batman: Arkham Knight. The larger cast of characters means players can jump between different play styles and combat approaches. The co-op kind of makes the game sound like a Marvel’s Avengers clone to a certain degree too. Players have a while to wait, the Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League game is only due to release sometime in 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X and PC.
