The main event for Summer Game Fest 2022 has come and gone, bringing dozens of new trailers and game announcements. Host Geoff Keighley gave the spotlight to plenty of indie games this year with a handful of AAA surprises, but it was a far tamer show than previous outings. Here’s everything that was announced at Summer Game Fest along with its trailers.
A good portion of the show seemed to be filled with sci-fi horror-themed games for some reason, but it didn’t take away how great many of them looked, including The Callisto Protocol and Routine. The show also ended with the biggest announcement of the night that was sadly leaked beforehand.

Summer Game Fest 2022 – All Announcements and Trailers
Street Fighter 6 – Guile Gameplay Trailer
Capcom debuted a new gameplay trailer for its upcoming fighting game, Street Fighter 6. The footage was focused on showcasing Guile’s various moves, but we also got a closer look at how gorgeous the game is in motion.
Aliens: Dark Descent – Reveal Trailer
We’re getting a new Alien game from Focus Interactive, and this time, it’s Aliens: Dark Descent, a squad-based top-down shooter where you assume the role of a colonial marines commander fending off the xenomorph threat. Arriving in 2023.
The Callisto Protocol – Gameplay Footage
We actually got two new looks at the upcoming survival horror game, The Callisto Protocol. The first was an “uncut” version of the previous trailer featuring more blood, while the other gave us our first glimpse at gameplay. Releasing 2 December 2022.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – Water Level Gameplay
Infinity Ward debuted the first gameplay footage for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (not to be confused with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2). The gameplay walked players through one of the opening missions of the game, showing off a big action set piece on a freighter.
Flashback 2 – Reveal Trailer
Flashback 2 was revealed after 30 long years since the original classic released. Expect plenty of old-school greatness.
Witchfire – Gameplay Trailer
Witchfire, the first-person shooter game that was announced several years ago, made a grand reappearance at Summer Game Fest this year, debuting new gameplay footage and confirming that it will be entering early access soon for PC.
Fort Solis – Reveal Trailer
Another sci-fi horror-esque game was revealed tonight, but this time, it stars Troy Baker. Fort Solis is a third-person action-horror game being built in Unreal Engine 5, and it looks pretty damn impressive.
Routine – Reveal Trailer
Routine is a first-person survival horror game coming exclusively to Xbox Series X/S and PC. The reveal trailer highlighted the game’s strong focus on building atmosphere and tension in the face of unknown fears. Insanely enough, it was one of the first games on the Steam Greenlight program all those years ago. There’s definitely a story behind all of this.
Fall Guys – Live Action Trailer
Fall Guys once again reminded us that it will be going free-to-play on 21 June for consoles and PC.
Stormgate – Cinematic Announcement Trailer
A team of legendary developers make up Frost Giant, who unveiled its new game Stormgate at Summer Game Fest. If you’re a fan of old-school Blizzard RTS games, don’t miss out on this one.
Highwater – Reveal Trailer
Highwater is an upcoming indie game that explores a world impacted by climate change, featuring a beautiful art style and a soothing soundtrack. It releases later this year.
American Arcadia – Announcement Trailer
Publisher Raw Fury released a new trailer for American Arcadia, its upcoming stealth platformer. It certainly won the award for most interesting dialogue of the entire show.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns – Darkness Falls Trailer
Marvel’s Midnight Suns received a brand new CG trailer at Summer Game Fest titled Darkness Falls. We get a good look at more familiar Marvel faces coming to the tactical RPG, including Venom.
Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course – New Gameplay Footage
Out later this month on 30 June 2022, Cuphead‘s massive DLC The Delicious Last Course got a new trailer showing off a never-before-seen boss fight using the new playable character, Ms. Chalice.
Neon White – Release Date Trailer
Neon White – which is only a few days away from release now – got a brand new gameplay trailer at the show, featuring some flashy combat and eye-catching art style. Coming to Nintendo Switch and PC on 16 June.
Midnight Fight Express – Release Date Trailer
Midnight Fight Express also resurfaced, confirming an official release date of 23 August 2022 for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
Warframe – The Duviri Paradox Teaser
Warframe debuted a teaser for the upcoming The Duviri Paradox, the game’s next major adventure. Players can tune into TennoCon 2022 on 16 June for more information.
Honkai Star Rail – Story Trailer
Honkai Star Rail, the upcoming free-to-play RPG from Genshin Impact‘s miHoYo, got a closer look at its story in a new trailer at Summer Game Fest.
Zenless Zone Zero – New Trailer
Developer miHoYo showcased another game in development, Zenless Zone Zero, offering another look at some new characters and plenty of stylish action.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge – Release Date Trailer
Shredding its way to consoles and PC on 16 June (that’s basically next week), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge debuted new Casey Jones gameplay along with confirming 6-player co-op.
Humankind: Cultures of Latin America DLC – Trailer
Humankind confirmed its next DLC titled Cultures of Latin America. It will also be launching on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on 4 November. Since it’s already on PC Game Pass, console players will receive the game day one on Xbox Game Pass.
One Piece Odyssey – Gameplay Trailer
Bandai Namco shared a new trailer for One Piece Odyssey, the upcoming turn-based RPG based on the popular One Piece manga. It features an original story from Eiichiro Oda and will be one of the rare occasions where the games tackle a turn-based system.
Soul Hackers 2 – The Calling Trailer
From the Shin Megami Tensei franchise, Soul Hackers 2 from publisher Atlus made itself known at Summer Game Fest with a flashy first trailer.
Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium – Release Date Trailer
Following plenty of leaks showing the full game list, Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium received a new trailer confirming a release date of 22 July 2022.
The Quarry – Launch Trailer
Supermassive Games showed off the launch trailer for its new interactive horror game, The Quarry – though it was already posted online earlier today. Nonetheless, the game is out on 10 June for consoles and PC.
Nightingale – Gameplay Trailer
Nightingale, coming from former BioWare developers, received a new gameplay trailer showcasing its mysterious world, characters and lore.
Saints Row – Boss Factory Demo Trailer
Saints Row revealed that players will be able to download the Boss Factory demo, which is essentially the full game’s character creator just as a standalone package. Best of all? You can download it right now on consoles and PC.
Warhammer 40K: Darktide – Gameplay Trailer
Warhammer 40K: Darktide debuted a new trailer at Summer Game Fest. The game will launch on 13 September 2022 for Xbox Series X/S and PC, and will arrive day one on Xbox Game Pass.
Layers of Fears – Reveal Trailer
The third Layers of Fear game was revealed by Bloober Team, this time titled Layers of Fears. It will be built entirely in Unreal Engine 5, and the trailer shows off the crisp visuals and creepy atmosphere.
Gotham Knights – Nightwing Character Trailer
Warner Bros. Montreal is making the rounds marketing its upcoming game, Gotham Knights. We got a new trailer highlighting Nightwing, though it looks like more trailers focusing on the other playable characters are still to come before it arrives on 25 October 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
The Last of Us Part I Remake – Reveal Trailer
Summer Game Fest 2022 closed with The Last of Us Part I Remake, which was leaked a few hours before the show began. The trailer does look promising, featuring overhauled graphics, lighting, textures and so much more, built from the ground up for PS5 and PC. It arrives on 2 September 2022.
