Summer Game Fest 2023 is set to kick off on 8 June with a special online and in-person presentation that will host plenty of exciting reveals, updates and trailers. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, this year’s event promises to be an exciting one as over 40 partners, consisting of several developers and publishers including PlayStation and Xbox, will be attending the event – and hopefully with something to show.
The stacked Summer Game Fest lineup this year, in addition to Sony and Microsoft, also includes companies like Disney, Activision, EA, Warner Bros Games, Ubisoft, Netflix, Capcom, CD Projekt Red, Sega, Square Enix and many more. When the partner list for the event is announced every year, it’s usually an indication of what fans can expect to see at the show, leading to plenty of speculation online.

To get the big names out of the way first, both PlayStation and Xbox seem to have something to share at Summer Game Fest this year. Xbox will host its own Games Showcase a few days later on 11 June while it’s rumoured that PlayStation is also hosting a showcase in late May. It’s unclear exactly what will be shown, especially if the companies are already hosting their own shows around the same time, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
Interestingly, Nintendo doesn’t seem to be on the list which shouldn’t come as a surprise. The company is known for mostly staying away from third-party events to host its own dedicated presentations. Since the schedule of Nintendo Switch games for the rest of 2023 is unknown, it’s believed that Nintendo is keeping its head low while it works on developing its next console.
Other than that, expect to see plenty of updates from the rest of the partners. We have some good guesses about what some of them may show, such as Neowiz which is currently working on the Bloodborne-inspired Lies of P or Warner Bros Games which may have a trailer for the leaked Mortal Kombat 1 locked and loaded.
